Gave me my sunrise back,
It’s nearing too late though,
The last of many,
A faultful break is ahead,
Guards have reassembled,
Power is restored,
No more banana pancakes,
Instead, empty truffles,
With hope of richness in each dome,
Squashed by echoing caves,
The bets are off,
The cheetah is unamused,
Distracted by black velvet,
The dock is left behind,
Destination unknown,
Duration undetermined,
But departure inevitable,
It’s sad it has to be like this,
Bravery reduced by intellect,
When did the pink innocence leave?
Time taints everything,
Unparalleled expectations,
But adjacent desires,
Patience has never been a gift of mine,
I believe my heart to be clean,
But years must wrap my mind,
A few more curious nodes to my stem,
Oaky knowledge is upon me,
A minty breeze has swept,
My mind is clear and primed
for what tomorrow will bring,
Focused calm has arrived,
And doubt is gone with the clouds,
I am peacefully ready,
And, oh boy, excitedly relieved.
